“One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.”

~ Maya Angelou

Supports for Community Living (SCL waiver) is a community-based program sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Medicaid Services administered by the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DDID).

Abbey Hill offers residential support services through this waiver program. These are based on the individual’s goals, choices, and priorities identified through a person-centered service plan.

The Residential Support Services Include:

Level I, which are provided in a staffed residence with no more than three people living together who require supervision up to 24 hours a day. Residential Supports assist with independent living skills such as personal hygiene, dressing and clothing, financial management, cooking, nutrition, personal growth, and safety.

Level II, which are provided in a home or adult foster care setting, alongside an existing family who has chosen to provide this level of support. The Family Home Provider (FHP) provides an opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive with the assistance of others as daily positive influences.
